Durham Gramm, born in Oak City, NC, is the son of retired Oak City Sparrows star pitcher Chad Gramm and retired pro wrestler Lidia Saye-Gramm. As a teen, Durham watched his parents go through a devastating divorce that eventually landed both of them in Algaheim Correctional for the brutal tactics they used against each other. He spent much of his teenage years living in Calico Aster with his older sister, Chalidia Gramm, who helped raise him while attending Calico Aster State University at just 18. With both parents behind bars, Durham joined the Calico Aster High School wrestling team as a way to cope with his troubled home life.
After high school, Durham attended Calico Aster Community College, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice with plans to attend law school. To support himself, he worked as a dancer at Bonnie’s Girls Nite Off ladies’ club. His millionaire father offered to pay for law school, but Durham refused his money because of the trauma caused by the divorce. Instead, he financed his education through a loan from Midas Financials.
After graduating from Calico Aster State University Law School, Durham worked with Air Raid Pro Wrestling promoter and attorney “Jumping” Jerry Hamilton, a longtime friend of Lidia Saye, while preparing for the bar exam. Hamilton gave Durham valuable legal experience and showed him how personality and courtroom antics could influence people. Hamilton wasn’t playing a character—his naturally arrogant and smug attitude had already made him unpopular in ARPW.
Durham repeatedly asked Hamilton to train him as a professional wrestler, partly because following his mother into wrestling would anger his father. Hamilton discouraged him, insisting there was no money in wrestling and claiming Lidia’s success came from marrying a baseball player rather than from her wrestling career.
After passing the bar, Durham became a divorce attorney specializing in family law. He frequently found clients at Bonnie’s Girls Nite Off, many of them women looking to leave their husbands. At times, Durham crossed professional boundaries by sleeping with some of his clients and bringing them home with him. As his reputation grew, he became a popular divorce attorney among women in the area. In Durham’s mind, he was helping them escape the kind of marriage that had destroyed his own family.
APPW Recruitment
During a divorce hearing at the Calico Aster County Courthouse, a man contesting his wife’s divorce accused Durham of pressuring her to leave him. Durham responded with an explosive admission: he wasn’t just encouraging the divorce—he was having an affair with the man’s wife. He then shocked the courtroom further by admitting he was also having an affair with the man’s 20-year-old daughter.
Sitting in the courtroom was APPW promoter Waldo Wagner, who was waiting for newly signed Petalstar Carlie Hefferson’s hearing concerning a previous incident. Waldo couldn’t believe what he was witnessing.
After the hearing, Waldo approached Durham outside the courthouse while he was talking with Jerry Hamilton. Wagner told Hamilton that Durham had the same kind of star potential Hamilton possessed in his prime. It was obvious that Durham had studied his mentor closely, even borrowing some of Hamilton’s old insults and mannerisms.
Waldo told Durham that becoming an APPW Petalstar could give him greater exposure and help promote his legal business. Durham accepted the offer, smiling at Hamilton, who had already become his courtroom mentor and would now help guide him into professional wrestling.
Waldo smiled from ear to ear and proudly informed Durham that he would become APPW’s first second-generation Petalstar. After giving Durham his contact information, Wagner happily skipped back toward his car. Hamilton watched him leave and shook his head. “The luck of that guy should be studied.”
The Petersburg Screening Evaluation is administered by Dr. Edna Petersburg, regulated by the Calico Aster Athletic Commission, and governed by the City of Calico Aster. As part of a public-safety initiative, the PSE determines whether a professional wrestler is classified as a heel or a babyface. Wrestlers who score from 1 to 49 are classified as heels and assigned to the Heel Locker Room, while wrestlers who score from 50 to 100 are classified as babyfaces and assigned to the Babyface Locker Room. A score of zero results in disqualification. Active wrestlers who are disqualified are suspended immediately.
A wrestler may apply for reevaluation one month after the previous evaluation. The CAAC Director may also order a reevaluation at their discretion based on the wrestler’s in-ring or out-of-ring conduct.
Score: 40/100 (Heel)
Placing him in the Heel Locker Room.
Durham Gramm uses his legal position to bait married fans into divorcing their spouses, claiming that he's "Certified" to do so.
With a strong dislike for his father, fans often chant "daddy's boy," which distracts him so badly that he loses the match.
