About Kaliyah

Kaliyah Styles, 30, of Eritrean descent, was born in Fort Calloway, North Carolina. As a military brat, Kaliyah grew up in Calico Aster’s Midland district in the Boyd Street Village near Gate 3.

As an adult, Kaliyah worked the housewares section at Speckles Co Supercenter from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Tuesday through Saturday, and spent her free time streaming her daily life on BlickerBop, earning extra money through viewer subscriptions and donations.

One afternoon after her shift, she stopped at the Special Hamster Express gas station in Sherwood Hills and overheard a fuel truck driver, Burlester “Pip” Turner, say that he was retiring from the fuel trucking business. Jokingly, he told Kaliyah that she should drive trucks. However, Kaliyah wanted to know every step because she was money-driven and had a superb work ethic.

Learning that she was serious, Pip Turner decided to delay his retirement and teach Kaliyah the business, step by step. He taught her how to drive trucks every business day after work before she enrolled in the CDL program at Calico Aster Community College in Kendrickville.

By the time she finished her courses, Kaliyah didn't just have a plastic CDL card—she had a feel for the road in her bones. A proud Pip showed her how to properly obtain her first fuel truck. Kaliyah moved with the precision of a woman who knew exactly what was at stake. Financed through Watchtower Bank, Kaliyah obtained her first fuel truck.

After Pip's retirement, Kaliyah didn't just take over his business; she expanded it, deepening her connections and striking a deal with a key manufacturing giant, RiCA Industries, in Sweggy Hills.

Rise To Fortune

Kaliyah's business grew quickly, exporting fuel from Al-Masri Fuel Depot and delivering it to additional participating businesses in the region, including Fort Calloway Army Base. After nearly two years, Kaliyah saw her fortune rise to $1.2 million. Her success was featured in the Calico Aster Exchange as an example of someone proving the American dream is real.

What Kaliyah did with the $1.2 million surprised many. Instead of leaving her roots behind, she bought the struggling Hamster Express gas station, where she met Pip and turned it into a popular regional fuel-trucking business, rebranding it as "Kaliyah's Pip-N-Go." She also struck merchandise deals with RiCa Industries, the manufacturer of WrD Energy, Petalverse Choice drinks, and Spec-tacular Foods. The 1.8-acre lot, located just 1.5 miles from Calico Aster Middle School, now houses a renovated store and a motorpool for her growing fleet.

Pip-N-Go Operations

To help run the business, Kaliyah hired friends she’d known since Calico Aster High—Subarro “Suby” Sanchez and Jeremiah Crawford, who had certifications. She hired Ava Lang, the former Dandy-Lion Cab dispatcher, as a Pip-N-Go dispatcher. Roy “Ace” Yates from Vilella Trucking was hired later. Kaliyah's Midland neighbor, Army veteran Ford Slazenger Sr., was a great addition to the team, with years of experience and a strong urge to get a break from his wife, Heather Slazenger, founder of Daughters of Calico Aster (DOCA). Kaliyah also kept Ram Patel, who had worked at the Special Hamster Express long before the takeover. Kaliyah never forgot his dedication, or the day he’d let her slide when she came up a few cents short for a grilled cheese sandwich.

Challenges

Running a gas station would become more complicated than she ever imagined, with the growing gang tension in the area. Home Grown Killerz (HGK), an up-and-coming gang that was banished from the Horace Heights district, brought their troubles to Sherwood Hills, intimidating customers and trying to bully the gas station employees, desperately seeking validation after humiliation.

Can Kaliyah and her drivers avoid conflict? Perhaps it is inevitable, as most people need gas, and Pip-N-Go is the city's main source of fuel.
