Spring 1982. Do It Moe Jean, Do It Perry Vale, Do It Nate Freeman, and Do It Fabian McDonald. They were Moe Jean & The Do It Gang of Calico Aster, North Carolina.

The Do It Gang

Moe Jean and The Do It Gang were a local funk band with big ambitions. Along with Shirley Abraham, they often performed at the Pearl Marrion Theater in Horace Heights, which is now PResent Armz Entertainment.

The Breakup
They made a lot of money over their eight years together before taking a break due to conflict among the group's members over Moe's roller-coaster relationship with Shirley.

The Reunion

In 1994, the group reunited in an attempt to restore funk to the region, this time joining Shirley Abraham's Funkstitution band for a tour. But Moe lost control, partying every night at Dark Flamingos strip club (now Purple Serval Lounge) in Midland.

Moe Trouble

In one instance, Moe, the lead singer and dancer, missed rehearsal all week. On the day of the show, he showed up drunk. After several minutes of arguing, Moe told the band he was fine, and they agreed to proceed with the performance two hours later. Unfortunately, Moe was not fine. He had two more drinks and never made it to the stage. The band performed without him.

The following week, the band was scheduled to rehearse at the theater. Again, Moe was late, except this time he had other plans. A drunk and jealous Moe pulled out a .380 Valleynite handgun that he'd purchased from 89B Gun Store and shot Perry and Nate, wounding them both. Fabian escaped when Moe tripped over a speaker cord while running toward him, injuring his wrist in the process.

CAPD Officers Felix Oboro and Charles "Chip" Godfrey arrived at the scene and arrested Moe Jean after Shirley Abraham told them what had happened. Moe was later found guilty of attempted murder and sentenced to 25 years at Algaheim Correctional's minimum-security facility. Although Perry and Nate recovered from their injuries, the band disbanded.

12 Years Later

After 12 years in Algaheim, Moe became the cellmate of former CAPD detective Conrad Delray, the man who killed Police Chief Rudolph Hayes. Delray had previously been involved in a human trafficking ring investigated by Chief Hayes, whose adopted daughter, Sayaka Hayes, had been one of its victims years earlier. 

Moe's attorney, Midas Young, informed the district attorney that Moe possessed information regarding Delray's confessions. The information he provided helped secure his release and led to the arrests of CAPD police officers, including Captain Aaghan Roache, who was running for Sheriff of Calico Aster County, as well as a Moolah City councilmember.

Sheriff Moe
Since his release, Moe has been living on the streets and is often seen outside Habibi Mart in Midland, Kaliyah's Pip-N-Go in Sherwood Hills, Trapezoid Earth Marijuana Dispensary in Midland, and Hamster Express in Horace Heights. Despite his actions years earlier, many people consider him a hero for helping put away Roache, dubbing him "Sheriff Moe."

As for his former bandmates, Fabian McDonald formed The Smell Goods band and frequently performs at PResent Armz Entertainment. Their hit song, "Petals of Devastation," garnered more than 4 million views on BlickerBop.
