The Mayor of the City of Calico Aster is an elected official who serves as the City's chief elected representative and presides over meetings of the City Council. The Mayor provides leadership, works closely with the City Council to establish the City's vision and priorities, and represents Calico Aster at official functions and community events.
Journey O. Berry was re-elected Mayor of the City of Calico Aster in November 2021. She is currently serving a four-year term that expires in November 2025.

City Manager
The City of Calico Aster operates under a Council-Manager form of government. Under this system, the City Council appoints a professionally trained City Manager, who serves at the pleasure of the Council.
As the City's chief administrative officer, the City Manager oversees the day-to-day operations of municipal government and implements the goals, policies, and directives established by the Mayor and City Council. The position is responsible for providing leadership, supervision, and support to department heads to ensure City services are delivered efficiently, effectively, and in a fiscally responsible manner.
The City Manager is also expected to develop creative and innovative solutions for carrying out projects and initiatives approved by the Mayor and City Council. In addition, the City Manager takes an oath to protect the safety, health, and welfare of Calico Aster's residents by enforcing all applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations.
On Monday, July 5, 2021, Dwayne A. McNair was sworn in as the City Manager of Calico Aster. Mr. McNair earned a Bachelor of Science in Finance from Calico Aster State University and a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from Pawnee Springs University.
